5 Tips to Improve Your Social Media Presence

Here are 5 helpful tips to help increase your company’s social media presence!

 

 

1. Create a detailed plan

Having a detailed plan is a proven method that is used everyday by businesses on social media. Figure out exactly what it is that you’re looking to get out of your social media presence. Do you want more phone calls, more emails, to sell more products, to increase public awareness of your business? These are important questions to ask, because your answer will help direct you in how and what you post.

 

2. Have a routine posting schedule

Get your audience used to receiving information at a certain time. Don’t let them guess when you’re going to post. If you're not sure what times would work best, the two busiest times of the day online is 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. If you have a decent size audience already, you can use Facebook insights to view what times of the day people visit your page most.

 

3. Keep posts image based and text to a minimum

Whether we like it or not, people just don’t want to read much anymore. Keeping your posts image based can catch the viewer’s eye and give them a reason to read your post! Keeping text to a minimum also helps with Facebook’s boosting policies.

 

4. Start small and work your way up

If you’re just starting out and are unsure of how responsive people will be to your social media account, a good rule of thumb is to post 2-3 times per week to start and see how well people respond. Once you see your audience viewing and responding to your content, starting posting more frequently.

The ultimate goal is to post 1-2 times per day.

 

5. Interact with your audience

You should like your fans comments and reply occasionally to show the human side of your company. Let them know a real person is posting and keeping track of the account. When people leave a good review, reply thanking them for their kind words. Even more importantly, when people leave a bad review, use the opportunity to publicly apologize and let them know the issue will be corrected.
